Helping Delilah Get a New Coat

harvey

We’d like to tell you what breed Delilah is and how old she is, but this poor dog was in such bad shape when our partners at Home for Good Dog Rescue found her, they couldn’t tell. When a South Carolina animal control officer brought her into a shelter Home for Good was visiting, they grabbed her and brought her to their care facility in Aiken, S.C.

Delilah had mange pretty much from head to toe. She had open sores and cracked dry skin. The loss of hair around her neck suggests that she had been kept chained and because of her condition she stood in a crouched position.

When Home for Good asked us to sponsor Delilah we jumped at the opportunity and immediately provided a donation to help with the costs of her care and recovery.

Since arriving at Aiken, she has been given a medicated bath and is being treated with a regimen of medical and topical ointments. Despite what she has been through, Home for Good staff report that she is always wagging her tail, is full of energy and loves people.

We are confident that with the care she is receiving in Aiken, Delilah will eventually be a healthy, loving companion for some adopting family.

The Tess McIntyre Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity that raises funds to support rescue dogs that need medical care in order to restore their health and prepare them for adoption. Your donations to the foundation will help us help more dogs like Delilah.
