Mufassa

Mufassa is a Golden mix, likely about three years old, who came to our partners at Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue after being picked up as a stray in Bakersfield. He appeared to have a dislocated shoulder but when the SCGRR partner vets attempted to repair the shoulder they found that the muscle and tissue surrounding the shoulder were no longer usable and he would never regain functionality in his front leg. Because of this the decision was made to amputate the leg.

Mufassa has had the surgery. He is recovering well in a foster home and learning to function on three legs. He is expected to recover fully.

The Tess McIntyre Foundation has made a contribution to help offset the cost of Mufassa’s surgery and additional medical expenses. We look forward to seeing Mufassa fully functional on his three legs and on his way to a forever home.
