Winnie and Her New Family

Winnie the dog and her puppies

Last month, our partners at Home for Good (HFG) Dog Rescue, pulled a hound mix named Winnie from a kill shelter in Emanuel County, Ga. As with all the dogs they rescue, Winnie was taken to HFG’s care facility in Aiken, S.C., to be spayed.

But that operation had to be postponed because Winnie had a surprise. She was pregnant. HFG flew Winnie to New Jersey and placed her with one of their foster families. Last week she gave birth to three puppies, two boys and a girl.

The Tess McIntyre Foundation is sponsoring Winnie and her new family. Our donation will help to pay for spay/neuter operations for Winnie and her three puppies as well as vaccinations for all.

Home for Good Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue in Berkeley Heights, N.J. They have saved more than 7,000 dogs from kill shelters in the South during their eight years of existence.

The Tess McIntyre Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity that helps rescued dogs get the medical treatment they need to recover and get adopted. 100% of the funds donated to the foundation are used to help dogs like Winnie.
